How to Play Craps online.

How to play

Craps is by far one of the most exciting games in the casino. The table is larger than others, and can accommodate one to sixteen players. The game is played with two dice, which a player (the shooter) rolls from one end of the table to the other. Players around the table place bets on the outcome of the dice. Odds are determined based on the number of ways any given number can be rolled by the two dice. A number that is less likely to be rolled will attract higher odds than a number that can be rolled in numerous combinations. Wherever Craps is played, there’s always whooping, hollering, high-fives and other animated gestures coming from the players. The game is fast moving and at times very loud.

Craps is not as confusing as it looks, and actually quite easy to learn. There are about 40 different bets that can be made on a craps layout, but to get started all you need to understand is the basic passline bet.

Passline Bet
A simple passline bet works like this. You place your bet on the passline (clearly marked on the table) before a new shooter begins his roll. This is known as the Come Out roll. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 you win. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12, you lose. If the shooter rolls any other number, that number becomes the point number. The shooter must roll that number again before a seven is rolled. If that happens, you win even money for your passline bet. If a seven is rolled before the point number is rolled again, you lose.

Example
A new shooter rolls the dice for the first time and they land on a 4 and a 2. The total is six, which becomes the "Point." The dealer places a marker that looks like a hockey puck on the number 6 on the craps layout. The shooter must now roll a six before he rolls a 7. If he rolls the six before rolling a 7, the passline bet wins and the shooter rolls again. This is a new Come Out roll and the same procedure applies as the first time the shooter rolled the dice.

If the shooter rolls a seven before the six, the passline bet loses and the dice are passed to the next shooter.

Winning Tips

A good strategy is to make Pass Line bets or Don't Pass bets by placing the true odds bet once the point has been established. You do this by clicking to the right of the point chip, and your second true odds bet will be placed. Another good bet is to place the 6 or 8 to win bet.

Proposition Bets

These bets can be made at any time and, except for the hardways, they are all one-roll bets.
Any Craps: You win if a 2, 3 or 12 is thrown. Pay-off 8:1
Any seven: You win if a 7 is rolled. Pay-off 5:1
Eleven: You win if an 11 is thrown. Pay-off 15:1
Ace deuce: You win if a 3 is rolled. Pay-off 15:1
Aces or boxcars: You win if a 2 or 12 is thrown. Pay-off 30:1

Horn Bet

This acts as bets on 2, 3, 11 and 12 simultaneously. You win if one of these numbers is rolled. Pay-off is determined by the number rolled. The other three bets are lost.

Hardways

The bet on a hardway number wins if it's thrown the hardway before the easyway or a 7 is rolled i.e. as a double. Hardways bet on 8 will win on 4-4, and lose on 7, 6-2 or 5-3.
